I am a poet, a musician, an artist
I am a traveler, a free spirit, a hippie, a beatnic

I think with my right mind & write on my left side
& the doctor said I was alright after I told him I was
I am leftover rain straining for a new cloud
I am intense, I am mellow hard as a rock, soft as jello

I am creation, evolution & ascension
I am ready, braced & anxious
brazen & crazy the less angry it all makes me
I am conscious, conscientious, and cautious
I am lost amidst cities with my heart in the woods
I am an activist, environmentalist, & even pacifist
I am of a spirit but often asked of my god
By god I am still trying to understand a lot
but leaves me with no reason
to close gaps I wouldn’t cross
Because I am a student & a teacher
I am an evangelist of independent thought

I am the sun & the moon & the in between
I am the midnight & the noon at the same time
I am me in you & you in me

I am who you think I am & also not at all
I am a child stuck in a man’s age
I am Jesus, Mohammad, and Buddha
I am Krishna & Vishnu & Santa & Karma
I am strong, I am certain & still I get insecure
I am normal, I am weird, I don’t fit in but I belong
I am all, I am Zen, I am one & I get lonely
I am vulnerable but powerful
erratic & unpredictable, yet sometimes I’m consistent
I am the essence of definition if I’m at all existent.
